Election Results: Newly elected members of the HRB are Steve Cauffman, Sandrine, Scherson, and Michele Walot, who were elected to two year terms. Michael McNally was re-elected to a one year term. Outgoing members Jan Fisher, Leslie Danziger, and Wendy Sanders were thanked for their service to the community.
Entertainment Update: The Valentine’s Day party was attended by 50 individuals who enjoyed champagne, canapés, and chocolates. The Passover dinner and Easter egg hunt have been cancelled for this year due to lack of community response. The HRB will try to host these events in 2014.
The HRB will host four movies in the park again this year. Dates and films will be announced shortly.
The next ICHA “Coffee on Us” will be held on Wednesday, March 20th from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. These coffees give the community the opportunity to meet and chat with ICHA employees and enjoy casual conversation with their neighbors.
The survey for recreation amenities for Area 10 is in preparation. The HRB hopes to have the survey sent out in the near future and the results tabulated in early April.
A request to use the community center for University Hills graduating high school seniors was approved unanimously by the HRB.
The HRB discussed items they would like to see in the 2013/2014 fiscal year budget and passed them on to ICHA for consideration. These include: beginning the replacement of trees on Frost and Fuertes, an electronic fob system for the pools, dog park, and restrooms, and a minimum 50% time assistant for Andrew Herndon and Ron Reid.
A complaint was received about a garage band in the community. The homeowner was advised to talk to the parents about the noise level. If this did not resolve the issue, the homeowner was instructed to contact the campus police.
The soccer field will be monitored for illegal use. There is one outside group that continues to occupy the field on weekends. If residents encounter a problem on use of the field when they have a reservation and the other party will not cede, campus police should be contacted at 824-5223.
The next HRB meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 4:00 p.m. in the community center. The date change was necessitated by Spring break.
