Entertainment Committee:  Julia Wan reported on the Summer Solstice Music and Arts Festival.  The event had 16 vendors and 4 musical groups that performed.  Julia has suggested that the HRB hire a cleaning crew for 2 hours immediately after each event.  The HRB agreed.

The final movie of the summer is this Saturday evening followed by a camp out in the Gabrielino Park.  Telescopes will be available for viewing the stars and planets after the movie.  Coffee, tea, and juice will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and pastries will be available for purchase.  The HRB wishes to thank Deborah Shaka for all the time she provides planning the movies each year.

The Fall Fiesta will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Gabrielino Park.  Food from Gina’s Pizza and Tacos & Company will be served along with fruit bars.  The balloon lady will be in attendance, along with the coffee cart.  Roast ears of corns may also be available.   The event will have bounce houses and hamster balls for the children.  This year’s event will have an ICHA/HRB booth and other booths with a green theme.

Signage is being prepared to post the hours for the Gabrielino Community Park.  The park opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 9:00 p.m.  Residents should be mindful that early and late entry into the park disturbs residents that live along Twain and other  nearby streets.

Dogs Off-Leash: The HRB is waiting to hear from Animal Control about recent incidents of a dog off leash.  Two residents filed complaints about the dog.  If a resident has trouble with an off-leash dog or dog bite, then  Animal Control should be called:

Andrew Herndon provided a summary of the Financial Reserve improvement additions and replacements.  These are detailed in the August 2013 Community Development Update.  A pictorial presentation will be shown to the HRB at the November meeting.

The next Coffee on Us will be scheduled at some point in November.
